Jude has not been doing well since Feb/Mar. they did all those tests on him Apr/May at Cornell - said heβs healthy & itβs aging. He is continuing decline. Refusing food, not eating enough, all behaviors not normal. Taking him in again Monday.

I'm so sorry. Hoping for the best.
I'm sorry your little clan is going through this on top of everything else ... it's so rough trying to make your way through elder kitty issues
When it rains it pours. I just want to get us all to a safe place to live.

So sorry. The hardest part of our journeys together. Hugs to all.
I can wholeheartedly empathise with you, been there.
Iβm seriously wondering if he is hearing the end due to not eating enough. Plus the hiding. Something is obviously wrong, but if all his tests are normal? He canβt continue like this.
Our old lad had heart problems ( & we didn't know how old he was because he just turned up & moved in one day) so at least we knew the reason for his decline. He got very dehydrated towards the end & had to be encouraged to drink, I know it's a long shot, but could Jude be dehydrated?
Iβve been watching his water intake. He is still drinking. Itβs possible he is not getting enough though. I donβt know. Jude is estimated at 13, but I do think he is older. When I adopted him, they estimated age 2. He was in a hoarding situation of 30+ cats in a tiny trailer.
Merlin was much older too we think, possibly 15,we don't know how long he'd been homeless for,he just appeared. I can't offer any other advice, I wish I could, as a pawrent it's a horrible situation to be in. Jude is so fortunate to have you & be so loved. Morgana & I send you both our love.
I'm so sorry, wishing you both comfort π«
Thank you β€οΈ
Good luck π«I hope they can provide a solution! π

My grandmother had dementia and ended up passing mostly due to refusing to eat. I think cats can also get dementia, I wonder if itβs a similar situation. Watching a loved one, regardless of species, decline is so hard. Wishing ease for your heart.
My dad was the same and sadly several of our cats did this as well. Sorry that you have to go thru this but heβs lucky to have you
Groucho is starting to seem a little confused occasionally.
Thereβs an appetite stimulant goo that can be rubbed inside their ears to decrease nausea and increase appetite. Sammie was on it when he got older. Could your vet give you that?
His appetite is not the problem. You can tell he is hungry. There is some reason he is not eating (I think itβs GI)
Our cat, Ollie, was exhibiting similar symptoms. For what it is worth, I found ChatGPT helpful. I would describe symptoms & behaviors and it would tell me what to look for and do. I would not rely on it 100%, but it was a bit helpful between vet visits to have a bit more information.
His symptoms are identical to Kittyβs π when he had intestinal lymphoma, except this is more sudden onset than gradual.
These are hard days. Sending love.
Thank you β€οΈ
I hope they can figure out what's wrong. π«π
Thank you β€οΈ
Has he had a dental exam? I ask because my little dog was also going downhill- seemed like she was in pain, not eating, visibly slowing down. She had a teeth cleaning a year ago. But somehow they overlooked a cracked molar, which they caught this year. She is back to herself after having it removed
Yes, he has had a dental exam among the thousands of dollars of tests and exams they did.
Itβs so frustrating and scary when they canβt figure it out. Holding you both in my thoughts β€οΈ
I'm sorry you are going through this. It's hard to watch them get old and they can't tell us what's wrong. πππ«π
