That’s true. But a knife kills too. Only on a smaller scale. There is something in the American culture, psyche, whatever that drives people to kill other people. On a scale that is not known anywhere else in the Western world.

I dont think that's accurate. There are murders all over the world, but less access to guns.

Most other western countries have a murder rate of around 1 and less per 100.000 people. The US is close to 6, tucked in between countries like Bolivia, Mongolia and Pakistan. The US a pressure cooker. Anger, hatred and prejudice. It is the same reason we see the very toxic political culture.
