Should have added NYC is not the nation, despite Politico’s hyperbole. Despite NYC’s importance, real and imagined, and the national attention, it’s probably a mistake to assume the results of what was essentially a local mayoral primary indicate a seismic political shift anywhere other than NYC.

People shouldn’t over interpret this. Cuomo is a horrible person whose arrogance killed a lot of people during covid. And he’s a sexual harasser. The fact that he dared to run is an insult to the voters of NYC. I in a purple state but my city is always run by Democrats yet a Democratic Socialist

I detest the democratic socialist labeling. The word “socialist” instantly alienates a large percent of the population. Just call yourself a Democrat and then pursue the DSA policies. But calling yourself a socialist is just attention seeking behavior.

It reveals the Democratic Party isn't responding to voters, same as the GOP, they just have survivable policies. The party assumed they could promote their preferred arse-kisser and everyone would protect the status quo. Like the 2016 race, they'll demand the winner quit and let their nobody, win.
