Cornyn will decide to "retire" before the primaries. Paxton/MAGA/Trump is a package deal. He can't denounce and go after Paxton without doing so with the other 2. So he will do a "My family & I have prayed about what to do and I also don't want to be a distraction to Pres Trump's glorious agenda".

Respectfully, no. He's lost two major elections in that state, including to someone (Cruz) *that a lot of Texans hate*. O'Rourke is a decent man, but not the right person. And of course, the sad reality is that most Texans don't vote -- but the ones who support fascism do. Hence the nightmare.
