A judge ruled that LA police can't use nonlethal weapons against journalists or force them out of protest areas. The Los Angeles Press Club sued the city's police department after officers allegedly used weapons against journalists while they were covering anti-ICE protests.

Ricochet rounds (rubber/wood) are used indirect fire, when used as their intended use (meaning a PO can use anything to defend their life, in extreme situations, which this is not). In this case, there is video of those rounds being fired directly at targets. This should be a lawsuit by itself.

My sister is worried for me when i attend protest (i’ve been to a lot) but I told her, everyday we allow him to remain in office, he gets another claw intrenched. After the rubber bullets they will break out the real. This is not what I served for, I served for all people.
I understand her fear, but if we don't stand up, then who? If not now, when? If we don't stop this with the mid-terms, it's over. This isn't who we're supposed to be. You and millions of others risked your lives, some lost theirs, to keep this sort of thing from our shores.

Firing on journalists should be an obvious bad thing that we shouldn’t need courts to rule against. However, I fully support any police officer or civilian who fires non-lethal rounds at ICE agents.
