Oh I absolutely do. Reducing staff doesn’t magically make an organization more efficient. The post I was replying to seemed to imply that it does. More than likely the state department won’t be any more efficient (or maybe just marginally) but rather they will just accomplish less.

The whole point of the layoffs is to eliminate unnecessary programs, reduce costs and shrink the bureaucracy. Accomplishing things that don’t provide value is an inefficient use of taxpayer dollars.

You’re assuming these layoffs are based on thoughtful analysis and based in reality. Given this administration’s track record of personnel decisions that is a very generous assumption.
