DEMers are most likely besides themselves re the prospect of Musk & Co. fracturing/dividing the GOPer cohort. But, even if Musk & Co. are able to pull it off, it won't change much of anything re USA's policies, voter apathy, etc. and, more significantly, USA's trajectory to a shitsville condition.

Careful what you wish for…money loves money. Just watch what happened in NYC mayoral race with where and who the money backed. Do they think their wealthy benefactors will not be all over Musk? If you want the votes, be a Bernie in a sea of Cuomos.

I think a well-funded alternative party only needs 5-7 seats in the House to control the legislative agenda. The US has become so polarized that such an alternative may be the only way to save democracy.
