The US and EU struck a trade agreement locking in a 15% tariff, days before Trump’s deadline to do a deal or face tariffs double that level.

This wasn't a deal, this is capitulation. @vonderleyen.ec.europa.eu did you leave your spine in Brussels? What happened to reciprocal tariffs and coming to an equitable agreement?! 15% base tariff and 50 on steel & aluminum, but nothing on American products??? This is a joke.

No foreign cars are an exception and will be cheaper than American. Healthcare is going to get a lot more expensive. I work in diagnostics and I would say about 70% of equipment is not made in the US. Tariffs are hurting bottom lines. So companies are either going to reduce headcount 1/2

or finding a way to reduce the pain . Many are offsetting some of the cost off to the hospital. 10% tariffs were being split down the middle where the organization would absorb 5% and pass the other 5% off to the customer. And then they will pass it off to the patient. 2/2

Well the good news is that the American people will only have to pay 15% more tax for their favourite things. And #POTUS #Trump will have some dollars to very partially subsidise all his tax giveaways to the very rich people in trailer parks who voted for him. Ok maybe not those voters but The 1% !!

The most shameful agreement the EU has concluded in its entire history. Sad. 15% tariffs on one side, 0% on the other, mum on the US surplus on services. And bowing to pressure applied by a convicted felon on the largest trading bloc in the world?! Speechless

Of course, European consumers will respond to this trade deal by continuing to boycot US products and services and by switching to European and other non-US alternatives. So what has Mr Trump achieved in the end?

It’s not really a deal, much less a good deal, when you increase the price to American consumers from a reckless tariff policy that history has proven will have a negative impact on the US economy.

You have to wonder about a US President who thinks this is a 'great deal'. We will now pay 15% more for goods from the EU. U.S. workers won't gain b/c the increase in U.S. production (if it happens at all) will be done with AI. Only the US gov't wins with more tax revenue. Paid for by you and me.
