As a public defender who has repped a number of snitches, I am fairly confident that she is not asking for anything special. This is a straight forward 5th amendment invocation. They want her to testify under oath about all the crimes she did with Jeffrey Epstein. That's as cut and dry you get.

Then what’s the “immunity” about? She could invoke the 5th whenever she wants.

Immunity is what you get in order to testify about crimes you've committed, but haven't been prosecuted for yet. Immunity removes your 5A right against self-incrimination because you can no longer incriminate yourself (thanks to the immunity). And therefore, you can no longer refuse the subpoena.

So if I understand it she’s not really “playing hardball”, she’s negotiating away her 5A rights. The question remains, what’s in it for her?
