I believe no state legislature should be able to gerrymander their state. I like to see every district 50/50 or as close to it as possible. So, every seat is a toss-up. Though, at this present time, the Democrats have to be as ruthless as the opposition. If not, we may never recover as a country.

I'm a Californian and know that Newsom has vetoed and opposed redistricting attempts in the past. "I think our Democracy would be well served with some competition." Now it's "Democrats can’t just sit there and act holier than thou while we watch our democracy be totally degraded.” He's right.

Hopefully if they regain power they can make substantive reforms including an independent election commission like many other countries have, and election finance reform

A day late and a dollar short. The one and only opportunity we had, I fear, was when the SCOTUS handed the president near immunity. In that moment Biden and the Democratic party should've stepped on Trump and the MAGA R's throats and not looked back. And the rest is silence.
