Gendered/sexed sports and bathrooms pose a dilemma to me: the individual wants to use the bathroom (or compete) according to their gender; others may feel uncomfortable or disadvantaged arising from that choice.

I don't know about sports, but in Sweden common ungendered bathrooms, with individual toilets in stalls with floor to ceiling walls & doors, seemed to provide a workable compromise.
