DC residents should stay home , if they can, other than for work. Stay off the streets. Don’t patronize restaurants, don’t go shopping in Georgetown, don’t go to museums, or monuments. Tourists should stay home. Let businesses lose money.

No surprise there. Crime was already going down. Americans generally don’t like the idea of federal overreach but especially once you involve the military in domestic affairs as well.
