It has nothing to do with the trade war. The PS5 was designed in 2019 and released in 2020. Since then the cost of the SoCs in that system have halved at least twice. At $499 Sony was making at least 100% profit on every PS5 they sold. At $549 it's just greedy and gross.

Already the gaming industry was getting more expensive. Trump has rolled out new tariffs on steel and aluminum contents, and %100 tariffs on semiconductors are yet to be announced. Things are only going to get more expensive by winter.
