Antifascists did that for four years without much help from liberals. They were convinced we were either exaggerating the threat or the other side of the same coin.
This article is incredibly disappointing… if you protested during George Floyd but are now either too disinterested or too scared to exercise your rights, then you were never an activist but a typical managerial liberal.
poli pro has turned into an apologist rag. its the newsmax of politics, just right-leaning pablum. NO JOURNALISTIC INTEGRITY
One day, one time marches are a waste of time. This administration pushes out so much insanity on a daily basis, you'd have to be in protest every day. BUT that doesn't mean that the administration shouldn't be called out! And Democrats still need to do that! Our leaders should be doing that...
Better to not engage with them, have them waste time and money achieving nothing.
Why aren’t people mass protesting a violent authoritarian who is trashing the constitution with impunity and using overwhelming, unchecked state violence to surveil, harass, and illegally lock his ideological opponents in dilapidated cages? Truly a mystery!
trump will wear his cape, and smite evildoers with his fat gut
This is false. Just because Politico isn’t covering them doesn’t mean they’re not happening. Protestors chased feds out of Columbia Heights the other day.
F*ck Politico — another trump state media organization. 🖕🏽 Unfollowing and encourage others to do the same.
Another reason for fewer protests- those targeted won’t come out and grasping to save their businesses. www.popville.com/2025/08/eliz...
I agree there’s a growing grassroots’ effort in our DC neighborhoods (#FREEDC). Big reason missing from article: nuance of federal employees (what’s left) dealing w low morale and then protesting employer (at the risk of retribution). We’re not giving in - just quieter. Black pop also stepped back.
Isn't part of it because media orgs like politico use vanilla language to describe Trump's fascist actions?

Axel Springer Verlag is right wing radical! Always has been. But then, the Times newspaper in the UK is a fig leaf for right winger Rupert Murdoch. We're having the wool pulled over our faces without even realising it!
People learned from BLM They want people in the streets....then they'll intentionally provoke a violent response, and use that violence to launch the slaughter they actually want.
This is true but fear is a poor excuse to not resist. German citizens tried that tactic once.
Except the people have been out and protesting. Maybe it was past your bedtime.
Bore them to death— stay in and let them spend their time doing nothing. It’ll drive them back home
Maybe they are ignoring him
But they should definitely protest today/tonight, as orange stain will allegedly be joining the National Guard on “patrols” or whatever the f*ck they’re doing!
The framing of this article indicates its worthlessness. "[Some activists and organizers] cited exhaustion and even fear." Gosh! Even fear? About protesting in a city currently patrolled by thugs who are already notorious for kidnappong? Could it be? To thinkI used to pay attention to Politico.

They seem to be protesting. They were successful at getting ICE to leave from one spot and who knows how many people in cars have been saved from check points. What ever Politico writes, I'm sure it doesn't mean that DC like being occupied.
remember how fast things went downhill after the nat guard opened fire at citizens and killed protestors at kent state coming soon to a city near you
