77 million people voted for Trump. For perspective, that's less than a third of the population and 49% of the number of people that voted. Additionally, the election could have been rigged since Trump is the first president since Reagan to win every swing state. Seems unlikely for someone like Trump

Tbf, there is some feedback on non-US companies with a market in the US. Demand goes down, which means they have to raise prices on their product to keep up with costs. But it is unlikely that dividends for investors will be affected to any great degree.

Tariffs are paid for by the consumer not the producer so the EU is not robbing the US. If you are referring to WWII, the general consensus is that the war in Europe would have still been won without US soldiers it just would have taken longer.

The uk supplies a special steel for Submarines which is not made in the US. Tariffs make the steel more expensive for the US, the idea is that to avoid this America should make its own. The problem is that even though the US is paying more it is not enough to make it viable to produce it in the USA

I am a retired Buying and Merchandising Director of an international clothing company with a budget in excess of £800m with 40 years of experience. Import tariffs create inflation in the country imposing the tariff NOT the supplier, which is why Trump is mad.

Sorry but you don’t get it. If a company in the EU buys an American made widget for $10 and the EU has a 20% tariff the importing company pays $10 to the US and $2 to the EU and has a new cost of $12. If the widget is then retailed in the EU the EU customer will pay an extra $5. Not the US taxpayer.

Problem is if we tariff back it’s us that ends up paying those tariffs just like it’s you paying the tariffs Trump has imposed on your imports. That’s why Canadians are doing a grassroots boycott of American goods and travel. It’s effective and doesn’t cost as much.
