Harvestborn has a pretty ring to it. I find myself wondering if kids have cultural symbolism hanging on them based on their birth in this setting, judgments on their characters or what they might achieve.

That's something I'm working on/thinking about now.

It started out as a convenient way to group children for school and social groups. Keeping similar ages together. And also, I wanted Aurora to be springborn. New beginnings, new growth.

Now I'm thinking about all kinds of things: if you want a fun husband, get a summerborn. A solid one, harvestborn is the way to go. We'll see how it develops.

If someone's perceived desirability as a life partner (or employee or leader) derives from their birth season, this gives people an incentive to lie about it. Idk if that's an idea that works thematically with your stories, I write a lot of intrigue 😅

That's another wrinkle. 🤔 Plus many children are abandoned on the edges of the Forest. Adopting parents can only guess when they were born. So it's not perfect. 😁 But was never designed to be.
