This is a fair critique, but the election is not until 26 and her efforts with community outreach seem to be above and beyond what we normally see from candidates. In my mind, I'd much rather have someone who is engaged, good on issues, and up for the fight even if they aren't from there.

Her efforts with community outreach isn't above and beyond in that district. She's running against 12 democrats. Hoan Huyhn helped local Vietnamese & Chinese businesses apply for Restaurant Revitalization Funds before he ran for office. Mike Simmons does an incredible amount of community outreach:

That's great. Most districts don't have multiple candidates that are doing that. I completely get the thought that her running in a safe D district isn't great when there are other good progressive candidates. She still seems like a very good candidate that would do good work in the house.

When she moved to Chicago, she moved to Mike Quigley’s district but announced she would run against Jan Schakowsky. Her intro video didn’t offer any satisfactory explanations for why she would target Schakowsky rather than Quigley. It seemed a provocation rather than a desire to do good.
