This was us with really young kids. Been able to push it back a bit as the kids get a little older. I really want to go back to my prekid dinner time of 7.

When are your young kids actually asleep by? I always wonder about this bc it seems like it varies so much. I was a night owl kid lol

They are 7 and 9. On school nights, we usually start the process at 8:15ish and are done reading around 9 or so. They're usually out quick after that.

That's pretty reasonable I think when I was young I think homework flip flopped to before and after dinner a few times, moving dinner around

No real homework yet for them. When it does happen, we try to get it done early. They are allowed to stay up basically as late as they want if they want to read on their own. But they've never pushed that too late.
