I just got last year’s version at Safeway. My sister (a doctor who is closely following what’s happening) advised us to go ahead and get a booster now even though it’s not the new one because it’s very possible only over 65 and pregnant women will be able to get the latest — if it comes out at all.
I am immuno compromised due to a couple of medical conditions. Attempted to get another booster at CVS a couple of weeks ago. Made online appointment, went in, but pharmacist refused because "they are not allowed to give more than 2" of the 'current one'. Had no ETA on getting the new one.
Michael Osterholm said on his podcast that he just got the old one because it had been long enough since his last booster that it wasn’t worth waiting for the new one.
I was just told by a pharmacist that the old vaccine got pulled by JFK and is no longer available because "it was killing people."
Maybe it depends on where you are. I got mine at Safeway but Walgreens in our town isn’t offering it.
