my daughter had lockdown drills in school today. she told me when we were lying down before bed. her gym teacher taught them things like, “cover your head to protect you brain” & told them “I will do everything I can to keep you safe.” E said, “I thought, what about him?”
I am an education professor in Minneapolis. Today my students, undergrads studying to be teachers, were talking and trying to process what happened. One said that if she dies protecting her students, then that was her life’s purpose. I feel the same, but I also know it doesn’t have to be this way
If my students died in a school shooting, I'd have a hard time living with myself. 😭
I'm so sorry and it's so sucky that she has to go through that. But what a thoughtful child you're raising.
You have a beautiful daughter. As a 3rd grade teacher, I know that my role is to keep my students safe, but for her to worry about her teacher demonstrates what a wonderful family she has! ♥️
