So Glass Bead Game just kinda middlin'? I started it many years ago, got about halfway, and petered out. I really like the ideas, but it is a bit dated, and I recall the prose being thick and opaque. Maybe it was a bad translation...

The ideas are indeed interesting but it's an absurdly overlong and turgid way of communicating them. It was basically worthwhile but not one I'd bother going back to. Here's the review I left myself
