The answer is that the Republican elites like the Koch Brothers were actively engaged in following the program in the Powell Memo while Republicans like @radiofreetom.bsky.social were ignoring the growing racism in the GOP while they were enjoying what the GOP was doing to block climate action.
So many levels of evil to get to where the US is today that each & every past and present Republican must own up to their part, stop sooking about democrats & vow never to let it happen to their party again, if they even have a party after the inevitable downfall of Trump & his fascist goons!
