Hi Michael! Yeah #conefest is still on here and I am still posting #sailboats too, just been a few days on the boats. The weather is lovely here but we were biking today, as there is no wind for sailing! How are things there?
NYC - for about 3 of the last 5 days, has been *gorgeous*, upper 70s (F) to low 80's and low humidity too. Slight breeze, All the big storms have passed along for now, (Hurricane season reaching its peak though, along East Coast, esp. South) Nice to see you on the aptly relevant "Blue sky". Enjoy!
Here in Ottawa it has been very similar, warm and sunny, although no wind for sailing for a few days. September is usually the best month for wind here. Yeah nice to see you here here too. I see D* has lost the majority of its users since my pod closed in April. Are you still there?
I never left, & see no difference... other than the absence of sailboat, bike & cone images! Diasp.org ended, & diaspora.social got shaky for a day or so, causing some of us to register with Glasswings, but all has been very stable of late. Low #s in general, true. "Here" is nice! For short-form.
Well is good it is still running, as it has been losing pods and users: diaspora.fediverse.observer/dailystats It will be interesting to see where is stabilizes. Right now it seems level at about 2,000 users, compared to 4,500 when diasp.org closed.
Yes... not the picture of 'exuberant vitality'. Stats-wise. But still a lovely place for living-room chats with old friends. :-)
At least it is hanging in for now!
