LA residents didn't need Rep. Jeffries or permission from him to oppose ICE. DC residents didn't wait for members of Congress to come and lead protests either. If you're expecting protest leadership to rise from politicians, I have bad news for you.

Protests begin in the community from community activists. Members of Congress are elected to legislate. They also have limited avenues to pursue court cases. Take it from a community with significant history of fighting tyrannical government. You're looking for fighting leaders in the wrong place.
