It's not about blame. It tells us voters in more states are more conservative & vote that way. They do so consistently, hence all the R governors and legislatures. If we don't nominate candidates who can speak to them we will continue to lose. It's not all the usual scapegoats. It's voters.

Examine the voter suppression and gerrymandering data. Legislatures and DC are strongly impacted. Governors less so, but moderate liberal governors are usually held back by conservative legislators or state courts even when they win.
