I don't think we can afford not to. This madman is gleefully deploying military against his own people, and that will require a distraction of epic proportions. A manufactured crisis in which Canada "attacks" the US would certainly foot that bill.

That will stop the parade, but it won’t stop the military protecting the administration against the people. What brings down a government in a highly-integrated economy is cyberattacks, targeted supply chain disruptions and particularly disruption to energy systems.
