Our country still does slavery via prison labor though. Do you not know that???
48 states haw laws on the books re prison labor. About 6 southern states pay little or nothing for most work. 48 states of laws we could change if we demanded change. Slavery is not prison labor. Many countries have Actual slavery today and that is the terrible point.
Prison labor is coerced/forced labor which is slavery, hope this helps
And 48 states have laws that we could all challenge if we got together
Slavery is a system where one person is legally owned as property by another. Although rights lost and work is mostly for free, there is that crime & guilty verdict that seperate the two. I get your point, just think they are different.
"There is that crime and guilty verdict that separate the two" Just because someone was convicted of a crime (which btw, the prison system has so many false positives and bs convictions anyways) Doesn't mean they should be subject to slave labor sorry. Anything else is immoral and unethical.
Agreed. Too bad most of the country is not on the same side. We definitely are off the rails when it comes to morality, but am not sure we were ever a morale nation. The idea of our democracy was tho. Good idea that never quite measured up to it's potential.
