Veitor has been against the genocide from the get-go, has hosted multiple interviews with Palestinians and pro-Palestinian people, and cited the genocide first thing after Kamala’s loss. You’re shadow-boxing.

That’s what I thought! Like has OP even ever listened to that podcast ever?
I was very confused reading this thread because he also hosts the World edition with Ben Rhodes and I don't recall them being on the wrong side of this issue.
They've consistently opposed Israel. OP just created context for the tweet and has decided that Tommy is looking for an apology. He's not. This is just a big group of the worst type of people on Bluesky getting themselves worked up over a made up scenario.
I don't care, he's defending people who didn't. He should be joining us in pointing and laughing at them and making sure they never hold any position of actual power or influence over again
Came here to say this. Lots of opinions here from folks who obviously don’t listen to Veitor. And if they do, that’s just weird? Who’s got time to hate listen?
Everyone just has a new scarecrow of “Pod Save Bros” as the new arch centrists or whatever, when Pod Save The World has been one of the loudest and best resources on Gaza. They even hosted and supported the No Vote bloc and said the Dems were crazy to ignore its totally reasonable demands.
Pod Save America earned the ire a long time ago, it's not like this came from nowhere, it's a pretty reasonable leap of logic (if erroneous) that the same people who were being stupid and pro establishment would be doing until a late heel turn, as we are seeing many now. Regardless, good to correct
I don’t see any warrant in claiming the complete opposite of their easily verified positions because we have some stereotype about them. They’re party loyalists, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t willing to loudly buck the party as they’ve done here.
I'm countering the "new scarecrow" specifically, this is old beef. Frankly, I haven't even thought about them for like 3+ years.
Yep.
"It's fine to make up lies about them to spread because I've disagreed with their takes in the past" is... Bold to say.
I'm sure you are far too busy to read but I clarified that it was erroneous, it was good to correct it, and that I was countering the "new scarecrow" line in particular in the follow up. Next lie I make up will be about your unmatched comprehension
Yes, I realize you "corrected yourself". But your comment was attempting to justify the original reaction, because you just assumed that it would be correct without giving it a second thought. Clearly you had trouble comprehending what Tommy was saying, it's okay to admit it. That's how we grow.
As a thinking person, this thread is really upsetting. Appreciate your bringing facts.
You came here to be wrong then
It's not about him, specifically. It's about what he's saying. He's not wrong, really, but at what point do ppl need to be accountable for calling us crazy each & every time we end up being right about things? (which is often).
By all means we don’t need to welcome Bari Weiss, but people are talking about Veitor like he’s talking about himself here, which is absolutely not the case. He’s saying this as a full-throated critic of the genocide.
If it supports welcoming centrists then it is a collaborator. There can be no welcoming any thing which supports or supported genocide. They must answer for their choices.
This must be the "Who Will Make Them?" version of "First They Came"
Centrists never do a gods damned thing unless and until it impacts them directly. By the time it impacts them directly most of us who belong to marginalized populations won't be around anymore to stand beside them against the fascists. So no, I'm not interested in centrist redemption. Let them burn.
No, he wasn't. Holy fuck, he *continuously* attacked protestors and waited until May of 2025 to label it a genocide. Stop gaslighting people. He instead attacked protestors and the "uncommitted" throughout the election
This just isn’t true Sprint, he might’ve called it that in May of 2025 but absolutely heard him call it a “genocide” before then too, and otherwise describe it accurately as such
Give a source.
Cited the genocide first thing after Kamala’s loss eh? Nothing from him about how Kamala planned to continue sending Israel free weapons?
Cause you’re just giving away the game here, you centrist freaks thought the genocide was good when a democrat was as in office, Trump being in office means you think it’s bad
I don’t know what calling for a ceasefire from the start, criticizing Biden for his policy, criticizing Kamala and Dems for not squarely opposing the genocide means to you, but I can’t get in the head of a slobbering idiot.
