"Name and Badge Number" If they refuse "Hello 911, there are armed men impersonating Law Enforcement, and kidnapping people off of the street"
"Name and Badge Number" If they refuse "Hello 911, there are armed men impersonating Law Enforcement, and kidnapping people off of the street"
It might create a record of one incident to do that, but unfortunately these ghouls are operating with the support of local law enforcement more often than not (and the explicit support of many local officers because pigs are pigs). So at best, nothing is likely to happen.
every small action adds up. even little things are worth doing
Little ones are worth doing. This woman calling them cowards is 100% worth doing. But calling the local PD will do nothing are best, put more people in danger at worst. So like, you shouldn't do it. It is just going to create more harm. Again, the feds operate in cooperation with the local PDs. 1/
We protect us. The cops don't. They protect power, and are active collaborators.
Even so, always do the right thing.
The woman in the video did the right thing. Absolutely intervene, video record, make it as arduous as possible for ICE to kidnap people. Calling the police is functionally meaningless. You may create a small record that may never get looked at, but that's best case. Worse case is you are harassed 1/
By the fash with guns (the local PD). Like what has happened to multiple parents from Uvalde, after they ran in to the school to save kids when the pigs wouldn't. It is, in my opinion, a huge unnecessary risk to involve local PD, when you are much more effective leaving them out and acting 2/
Directly like the people in that video did when they confronted ICE.
Make the cops earn their pay by showing up to the call, at least.
They won't show up is the best case scenario. The worst is that the local PD start hassling YOU for "interfering" with federal agents. Even if you are objectively in the right, that won't stop cops from harassing you, like they did (and are still doing) to the Uvalde parents who acted to save kids.
So what? Us white people need to use our privilege for good. A little discomfort is a small price to pay for freedom for all.
Because there is no benefit to involving the local police. So you are just taking a huge risk on yourself and everyone around you for nothing. By all means, do what the woman in the video did. Make ICE's job harder, try and support those they are victimizing. That is worth it. The cops won't help.1/
But we protect us. The cop, local, state, or federal, are agents of the administration and are less than useful. They are actively harmful, if they aren't absent 99.9% of the time. /end
Oops, I read too quickly and missed the call 911 part. I was talking about what the woman in the video did. You are absolutely right. Don't call 911 to bring more police into the situation. Their job is not to help people.
All good. And yes, that woman is completely in the right and more of us should be like her! :)
This is complying in advance. Sitting back because you're safe while others around you are being rounded up is just step one in the "First they came for..." poem.
I am literally not saying to comply. I am 100% behind what happened in the video. What those people did is heroic and the harder you make ICE's job, the better. I am saying involving local PD is 99.9% GOING TO LEAD TO MORE HARM. Because ICE works in collaborate with the local cops. So bringing 1/
In is just going to give ICE more armed allies. The cops won't save us, they are only ever on the side of power. We protect us. Fuck the cops (local, state and federal).
they have DHS homeland security on their cloths and cars. the guy detained gets access to phone during his 52 day detention. i agree they should be more transparent. but these guys arent cops. theyre feds. if you dont like how they run tell congress
