My husband had his labrum repaired this summer (he tore it decades ago) and we got the bill for the sling he wore for 6 weeks. It cost $1163.70!! We owe $117.64, which is probably the actual cost of the sling. But whatever.

Fun fun, thats what Im laying in the hospital for, waiting on surgery. Did you talk to your insurance about it? You should have been able to get a preauthorization for it from the surgeon.

It's wild what they bill insurance for. When I went to an orthotist to get a cervical collar, we found out mid-visit that they were actually out of network, and it was going to cost like $700 through insurance. So she printed the Amazon listing so I could buy it for $65.
