You have drawn a conclusion that my comment never implied. I believe that porn sites should regulate who can view their material. Saying parents are the first line against abuse is a fact. You may not like it, but there it is. So in your brave new world, just HOW would you regulate it?

I am more concerned about children's cyber security than what they might see. I am concerned that parent's don't have open lines of communication with their children so they learn how to filter and be safe whilst using the Internet.

I see children daily who cannot discuss sexuality, identity, ethics and more with their parents, so who is to blame for that? The Internet? You teach your kids about stranger danger; then teach them how to be safe on the Net or keep them off of it.

Lots of people are to blame for that. Having acknowledged that parents are part of the problem I'm not sure why they would therefore also be the solution. Swap the internet for drugs and tell me is your answer to the problem the same? Just keep your children off the internet is naive.

Ok, let's just do that! Drugs: harmful/helpful? Depends on your perspective. There's no way to keep children away from drugs so how then would you "regulate" away recreational/experimental use? Kids will get whatever drug they want irrespective of "regulation." What we SHOULDN'T do is criminalise it

Your comment didn't imply it, it stated it very boldly. Parents may be the first line of defence but they are not the only line of defence. Exactly HOW it should be regulated is what the conversation should be, not 'it's all up to parents we can do nothing about regulating the tech industry '.

Wrong conversation. Your thinking is one reason kids can't cope with stress and suffer high anxiety. You don't protect them from cyber danger by not letting them see where the danger lies. Teach your child to think critically if you can because they will be much less likely to have a bad experience.
