The US spends nearly as much as the rest of the world combined on the military... how was this so lame? I was expecting F-35s and B-2s flying low over rows of Abramas tanks, with hundreds of thousands of fanatical sycophants cheering at the top of their lungs. You really have the lamest dictator.

The U.S. Army doesn’t operate many fixed-wing aircraft.

If this has him wondering how loyal all branches of the military would be to him, we’re thrilled. This implicit threat may be all we have right now, in the way of checks and balances.

Well the cooler planes are Airforce. This was Army, so the coolest stuff they have really is just the tanks. They also boats, but that would look lame as hell on a trailer.

Army has a fuckton of helicopters, having those do a low flyby would probably look decently intimidating, tbf.

They had a few go through. A low flyby would be dangerous for the crowd, and we'd see whatever that is on Donald's head flap around.

The Army doesn't have planes. They did have copters, though.

The Air Force used to be called the Army Air Force. The Army had all the planes at one point in its history.

And then in 1947 the Air Force became a separate service (at the same time the “War Department” became the “Defense Department” and SecNav stopped being a cabinet position) and the 1948 Key West agreement said the Navy and the Air Force got planes and the Army got helicopters.
