Seems to be a recurring theme for my politically pertinent episodes that a strange niche of conspiracist losers become a dominant and hateful trend, from the Republic of Letters to QAnon. Is there a book about this sociological phenomenon of weirdo outsiders becoming mainstream?

JM Bergers Extremism is pretty good at unpacking. The fundamentals of extreme is thinking and illustrating why it’s so appealing to people. Creates a very binary world view where there are clear good guys and bad guys and you’re always one of the good guys no matter what horrible things you do.

Daniel Levitas The Terrorist Next Door also has a good foundation for why Sovereign Citizen conspiracy thinking is so appealing. SovCit is very much the catalyst for Q Nuts.

Cheers mate. Oh btw thought I’d mention I bumped into a undergrad working on history of Northwestern American tribes and recommend your work on American violence in the Southwest and your YouTube channel to him. 😁
