Also, keeping negative thoughts top of mind is from our evolutionary past. Forgetting the lion is crouching in tall grass can be grave. Antidote: Great just to notice what the mind is doing (as you did) and then turn attention to something else. Unwanted guests eventually stop appearing.

People making comments like that are mostly asocial weirdos with no close friends/family IRL, I just block and move on. I moderated forums in the early days of the internet, and we used to be able to IP ban entire subnets and force the ISP to kick users off their services.

He should be ashamed. I watched that video a few days ago and it found it helpful and informative, but also a little terrifying. I was relieved to get a head's-up on an issue that wasn't on my radar but which is very important. I'm sorry you were confronted with that response.
