And it isn’t true. More fear mongering. We have enough actually true things to worry about with making up shit.

Can you link something supporting your position? Because I seem to remember the same argument right before overturning Roe V. Wade. It's been reported by multiple sources.

Thank you for this. Frigging legacy media doesn't seem to be doing any more research as the average political page admin. I'm honestly getting better news from CBC or one of the bigger European outlets.

Same. I also read some German language media (lived in Germany for several years in the 90's). I'm ashamed at how far American media has fallen the last 20 years.

Dude, same. Reagan’s fault for revoking the fairness doctrine.

The fairness doctrine mandated that you couldn't have only one view in media, the way Fox or Breitbart does.

The Fairness Doctrine only applied to "broadcast stations" (as defined statutorily below). The FCC has no authority to regulate the content of any other medium and can only regulate "broadcasting" due to a 1A exception recognized by SCOTUS due to the "unique" nature of that medium.

What, precisely, would the FD have done? It never mandated coverage of any particular story, but only that *some* public issues be given *some* (small) time. Stations could pick which they liked. It never mandated 'truth'. The goal was diversity, not accuracy. So, multiple lies, not just one lie.

You don’t understand what that policy was. It has nothing to do with this.

I’d love to answer you but when I click on the notification it brings me to your comment, not back to the original post, so I have no idea what my position was or even what was being discussed. 😂

Don't you just love linear social media?
