Sorry, I forgot to alt text this one. I’ve done it here for those who can’t see the pic.

Pictured: King of stolen valor, Sheriff David Clarke, former law enforcement official who served as Sheriff of Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, from 2002 to 2017. He wore/wears a ridiculous amount of pins, badges and ribbons on his uniform to make him look like some sort of highly decorated five star brigadier general, but actuality it’s all bullshit — as most performative Republicans are. Some pins were given to him from fans, friends and families of victims. He wears psycho pro-life stuff like a pair of little feet, and he even has a pin of his lame-ass law enforcement motorcycle club on his uniform. I wouldn’t be surprised if one of those badges was earned in Boy Scouts, but then again, I doubt he has ever earned very much in his life. The point is, wearing a bunch of generic and non-related pins and ribbons on your jacket comes across as stolen valor when the attempt is to look highly decorated, especially from a distance or to the untrained eye. Much like when Pete Kegsbreath folds up an American flag handkerchief and wears it as a pocket square just so, so that from a distance it looks like some sort of military bar or pin.

I see 3 “cats out of a tree” ribbons, but only two “emptied magazine at candy bar holder” ones. Slacker.
