I think this is significant: it represents a doubling down on Starmer’s adherence to Blue Labour thinking, and a rejection of radical left wing ideas. Now he will *definitely* lose the next election.

I don't see it as a left vs right thing. It's just cynical, and wrong. Starmer will quite likely win the next election, even if not a parliamentary majority.
