Eh, it's too vague of a statement to say it's not radical, how big of a car payment are we saying they should be able to afford, should they be able to afford a brand new luxury vehicle? If so that's radical, why do they need a car payment, if they save on the paycheck buy a car they can afford cash

Walmart employees should have decent government labor laws, paid sick leave, maternity benefits, regulations on employment standards & employee rights, a decent minimum wage. $7.50 is a joke, Canada's is $17.60. Any corp will work with rules it has been given & Walmart employees have been deserted.

I think if a company has employees on government assistance they should pay 40% of their gross revenue into the social safety net like SNAP Healthcare and even a UBI. All the boardmembers too. Make it more desirable for them to pay a living wage than hoard all of the profits themselves

How very privileged of you to think that everyone can work a full time job. You are placing the burden on the wrong party. UBI is what we need, not so called "living wages" because all you do there is compress wages, decrease new hiring, and spit in the face of those who cannot get a job.

At the very VERY least ! A Walmart employee should not have to use SNAP/Medicaid to survive The Waltons would still have more money than they could spend in their lifetimes if they paid a living wage. And the federal government shouldn’t have to subsidize anybody that damn rich‼️

Post WW2 - 1986 Americans survived on one salary plus there was socioeconomic mobility. Then came Reagan & his Tax Reform Act & the Reagan IRS Code which created income disparity with tax cuts & tax loopholes for the wealthy & corporations and busted unions; he removed working class tax deductions.

Do not shop at Walmart, Amazon, Target. The reason things are so cheap is that they don't pay their employees. And they get away with it because they put the smaller stores out of business and killed the competition. Employees have few options. If they shut down, small local stores will thrive again

Plus, I shouldn't have to be an assistant manager to be allowed to work full time. Part time should be an option for folks who work retail as a side gig, not a requirement for so-called "lesser" positions. Only reason it isn't is because companies don't want to provide their employees with benefits.
