Epstein died in 2019 during the first term. Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted at the end of 2021 under Biden. The key here is the big push by Dershowitz to get a pardon. He is acting like he has a lot of leverage.

I don’t think the FBI files have anything Trump didn’t expect, but they probably have enough to make a Maxwell pardon not viable.

Trump has always acted cagey around Maxwell, but he may not have been sure what she had. If this is all Dershowitz making it clear to Trump that she has the goods then this all makes a lot more sense.
