It could be argued that the more aggressive moves to fast track a dictatorship are a shiny object designed to distract us from all of the progress they are making with all of these institutions. The real issue though is the institutions themselves clearly want to submit. It’s hard to block that.
What is needed is to start imposing costs on these places. Boycotts, protests, etc. It’s a hard thing to do as activists though. There is only so much bandwidth. It would be better if blue states put some muscle into this, but so far they have been arguably more useless than congressional Dems.
Blue states have tremendous power to affect the calculations of corporations deciding whether to get in bed with Trump. They need to use it.
