If there is some constitutional process or law that seems to justify what they are doing, just ignore it and say no, not here, not under any circumstances. Do not be polite Just say no, and make it clear you would rather go down swinging than to accept a future where they can disappear you at will
The reality is that we are much stronger than they are. If it comes to a fight, we absolutely can win, and fighting is vastly preferable to what they have planned for us. As with all human conflict, being prepared to fight is how you prevent bad outcomes. They can be deterred. They can be defeated
