A friend of mine used to live in Drumcondra in a house with a detached garage that was converted into a studio apartment. The girl that was renting it was not living there and was instead letting out on airbnb making a tidy profit. He found she had several other listings in Dublin!
It's a crazy situation, where we're putting homeless people up in hotels while apartments and houses are being rented by the day to tourists.
It's a hell of a scam. Lots of money being made by these people taking advantage of Airbnb to list rental properties as their own. There aren't any safeguards against this on the app.
