It was a good song but Ireland have really struggled with staging recently. I’m half Irish and married to an Irishman and neither of us was surprised, despite voting for them. #Eurovision

I think we used to win more because we were seen differently. Like an agrarian country that was always an underdog. No we're seen as a rich country with a lot of banks and a lot of big tech companies. I wonder if that made us less likeable at Eurovision. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I mean that Finland song was awful.

I’ll caveat my response with Bambie Thug last year who blew my socks off. I think Ireland need to focus on what Irish music is in 2026. But staging can cost a good song the win. See Malta and Destiny 2021. #Eurovision
