![APS Board Statement 8/21/25 Send the comment to school.board@apsva.us [Arlington, VA] Good Evening, Esteemed School Board Members. My name is Jeramy Olmack, They Them pronouns, and I’m speaking in support of APS’ renewed support of the policies concerning transgender and non-binary students. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to our school board for standing up against the Regime's blatant abuse of power. Trump and his traitorous cronies want to intimidate our communities and your resolve, and the resolve of the whole Northern Virginia School Board Coalition is absolutely inspiring! Tonight, the Lieutenant Governor, using the rights and platform she gained from our ancestors, is here to admonish you for standing firm with your commitment to the children of our community. The Lieutenant Governor is not only wrong to use hate to further her ambitions, but she stands here despite everything that has allowed her this platform in the first place. She stands against all the values she represents and is traitorously colluding with an authoritarian regime to harm our community. I am not here to campaign, but know if elected to the county board, you will have a staunch ally in this fight against harm, and I will work with this school board and the whole coalition to stand firm in the commitment to providing a safe environment for all, not just those who fit the mold. Our students deserve to be talked about like people, not pawns, and our queer students shouldn't be thrown under the bus to appease dictators. I am excited that this school board is maintaining its student-first approach and will be watching closely to make sure it continues.
