Yes, this is AI. They took a picture and told AI to make it into a video. That's why it looks so real, but the video is NOT. And keep AI the FUCK off of Blusky. Don't make this into Twitter

Rescinding previous claim. After extensive research, it appears to be a genuine video. This particular video has been called into question MULTIPLE times before, even upwards of one year ago. It's been something of a fire starter for months NOT rescinding my vitriolic statement of fuck AI though
oh ok!
Alright, putting this to bed now since the discussion has continued. Back on the "its ai" train. Bear with me 1. No verified source exists for the video. Several popular posts ask for the photographer to come forward www.instagram.com/reel/C_Q0z_i... tinyurl.com/4a4ztmbt
2. When comparing known footage of this bird from professional photographers, nothing compares to what the video shows. www.shutterstock.com/video/search...
3. As many users pointed out, birds do not generally fly with their wings awkwardly above their head. And the feet are blurry for such a HD video. Compare that to the long feet found in the actual footage in the links above and you'll see this is not how they fly. With feet tucked up.
4. The ultra closeup with image stabilization is a common trope to see in wildlife AI generations sora.chatgpt.com/g/gen_01jq49... sora.chatgpt.com/g/gen_01jtc0... sora.chatgpt.com/g/gen_01jrfk...
5. And most important. TRUST YOUR GUT! I'm sorry I ever went back on my claim. If it feels ai. It's probably ai. Our brains are good at picking up the uncanny valley. This has been interesting, thanks for coming to my TedTalk. I'm Mack and I'm going back to being a furry now.
When people link youtube videos as evidence of "its not ai", its like "bruh...that isn't evidence" Just cause it appears in someone's video means they: Stole it from someone else who stole it, from someone who stole it, from someone who stole it, fro----
the wings seem far too small compared to the body
Wait so someone post a cute bird and you're complaining about it being A.I. man high levels of stupidity if you ask me
Nah it really seems like ai
Definitely AI. The wings and feet don’t make any sense. I’m an animator and I’ve animated a lot of wings.
Do you still have a link to the original source? I'd love to see what else such a skilled videographer can produce
Original source unverifiable. Been searching. A few users claimed to be the original, however comparing known actual footage to this seems to yield suspicious results
Honestly, having looked at other videos of this bird, I’m even more convinced now that this one is AI. - The head, eye, and beak shape are wrong once the angle changes - Birds this size don’t _glide_, they flap constantly - Nobody Else has footage like this, following the bird in flight so closely
Mackaroo, could you possibly share something from your research re the genuineness of the video.
Dead ends. My research lasted about an hour which was not sufficient for an exact diagnosis. Information is limited and there were users who somewhat believably claimed to be the owner. I'm getting back onboard the "its ai" train
AI of birds can be vert convincing. Last year I was looking for a picture of a Hawaiian white tern (manu-o-Kū) to send to a friend. The first (and best) was this AI.
Recently, I was searching for a Jaguar. And most every result was ai. A real Jaguar was hard to find. In the future, I bet people will only see ai. When they go to a zoo, they'll be surprised when the animal doesn't look exactly like the ai they are used to I'm glad you shared this experience.
*very
See, I'm suspicious, the eye changes shape and the feet meld and reform. Something isn't right here.
I was going to say, that’s the most AI looking real life bird I’ve seen…turns out that’s bc it was AI 🤦🏼♀️😂
Umm, very confused. When I looked it up, it seems to be a real bird and a real video. What is your evidence? Am I missing something?
(specifically look at the feet)

Yes, this video features the AI video. It’s also narrated by AI.
You can pause and unpause to see the artifacts that get smoothed by ai. Also the more the video goes, the different everything looks. They made this by sampling a real photo, maybe even multiple. I think it creates a really cool effect, and out of context people would think is innovative and fun.
It’s real.
Agreed. AI takes away from the real artists.
No bird has feet like this one, not even a good picture as basis.
It’s a cool thing though, no? We don’t have this crazy of a closeup, apart from that mid-flight photo. What’s wrong with the video that came out of it?
agreed, AI is on every other social media site already, dont want it here too
You’re wrong. youtu.be/1iHuWkvQdng
Oh that's disappointing
