Real emergency offices need to get accounts on Bluesky damn quickly. I say that as someone who spent almost 30 years in emergency-adjacent work.

Amen. I dumped Xitter a couple months ago, and the only time I truly missed it was when I couldn't just follow our local NWS office prior to a big snowstorm.

One of the universities has set up a bunch of bot accounts. Each one is tied to one of the National Weather Service's 100+ district (regional?) offices.
