God is that what the show did? I didn't watch it because I figured it was going to be anti-communist trash but I didn't think they'd go that far.

The show is loosely based on Alexejevich's telling of the whole incident and yeah, she's a fervent anti-commie. Damn, Legasov was a convinced communist who didn't just go "our whole system is fucked". The whole caricature of an obnoxious old commie councilman also lol
