As other host cities announce fan festivals and watch parties, LA has yet to share any of this information for the World Cup which is now nine months away. I've been asking for the past six months why LA has no plan. This Politico story explains... a lot

FIFA's fight with Stan Kroenke to bring the World Cup matches to LA in the first place has been well-documented. This is from 2023. But as I have to keep reminding everyone: *LA holds the host city contract* — this isn't a deal that was made with SoFi, this is us on the hook once again

This battle over the logistics for California's World Cup matches was top of mind for the state legislature's megaevent committee at their meeting in July, where electeds expressed many concerns about the lack of coordination, transparency, and funding — particularly around security costs

And, frankly, this answer is bullshit. New York's matches are at MetLife Stadium in NJ and they're hosting fan zones and viewing parties in Jersey City and NYC. This isn't hard to do. If LA can't get this together for the World Cup what will the Olympics and Paralympics look like?

It needs to be moved to a lower crime city but that would be considered racist.
