Yes, a complete breakdown in a precious family relationship is teaching me how to choose myself. 3 mos into my therapy...at 72 yo I never thought I'd need it but this betrayal has been deep. Today I made another choice & said no to an invitation that would give the impression I'm okay. I'm not. YET.
