Policy-wise, LibDem and Lab have too little in common. One is progressive, internationalist, socially-engaged. The other is Labour.

Fair enough, but, by way of an analogy - in South Africa, under Apartheid there were many differences between the opposition parties but they unified against a common enemy- the Apartheid Govt.

And over the last several decades, whenever a co-ordination of progressive politics might have been constructive for the UK, Labour has backed away like a maiden aunt fearing for her purity.

Btw I support LD - but you have not explained why Lab and LD voting tactically to keep Reform out is a bad thing.

I don't think it's tactically a bad thing at all. But realistically I can't see constituency Labour parties agreeing to it, especially when policy gap between Lab and LD is so obvious, as is Lab complacency. I just don't see it happening on a large enough scale.

Labour is in power. Perhaps a change in the electoral system away from granting a seat for 35% of the votes?
